REMHQ reports that the band has practically finished recording their fifteenth studio album and will set about mixing it after the summer break. Of course the word “break” should not be understood literally, because Peter Buck is already busy promoting the new Tired Pony record The Place We Ran From, then a few weeks later Scott McCaughey & Mike Mills will be touring with The Baseball Project, and I’m pretty sure that the boys have other projects scheduled as well. So yeah, it’ll be a busy summer for them all, but hopefully an ever busier autumn, because they have (sort of) announced the Spring 2011 release for the new R.E.M. album. Now this is something to look forward to!
Speaking of new releases, the 25th anniversary edition of Fables Of The Reconstruction, as well as the debut Tired Pony album, have already hit the stores in the U.K., and Fables are released worldwide today. Also, I should mention that Mike Mills’s buddies Ken Stringfellow and Jon Auer a.k.a. The Posies have announced the release of their new album Blood/Candy, and some tour dates too! Ouch! Any date in Italy for The Posies this time…

Something tells me that Ivana will be busy the 5th of october
Oh well, I will stay here in the corner, waiting for the new R.E.M.’s album (in other words, I will go into hibernation until spring)

Good guess Dol!
As for Italy, there’s a chance that The Posies will add more European tour dates later, after they’ve finalised their North American schedule.
Besides, the Spring 2011 release date for R.E.M. means that the hype machine will already be rolling throughout winter – teaser tracks, interviews, etc.

UPDATE: Dol, Ken has said on his Facebook that they will be touring Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, the Balkans etc. in early 2011. They’ll be touring North America in November and December, and after that they’ll return to Europe.
